Safeguarding Ashdown Forest for the next 100 Years

As we celebrate one hundred years since the first publication of A. A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh stories, The Ashdown Forest Foundation has created a new legacy fund to ensure that Ashdown Forest is protected long into the future.

The fund supports four essential pillars for the Forest: Conservation Projects, Community, Maintenance & Management, and Landscape Strategy.

The Forest’s precious heathland landscape is rarer than tropical rainforest and supports many rare and vulnerable species.  The ecology is important, but the Forest also provides a vital resource for enjoyment, education, health and recreation for local communities and visitors to the area.

Inspired by the 100th anniversary of our most famous resident, Winnie-the-Pooh, we have launched a new fund; the Ashdown Forest Hundred Year Legacy Fund.
The goal is to establish a long-term funding pot that will support the Forest for future generations and all the species that live within it.
