Save the date for a very special event
Just outside the village of Hartfield lies Cotchford Farm, former home of the Milne family and the place from which Christopher Robin and his father would head out on the walks up on Ashdown Forest that inspired the stories of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends that we all still know and love today.
One hundred years on from the publication of the first Winnie-the-Pooh book, the owners of this spectacular home are very generously opening the gardens to the public in support of Ashdown Forest.
Tickets will be available for morning or afternoon sessions on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2026.
Come and explore the beautiful gardens and listen to expert speakers who will be sharing their knowledge of the Milne family and the Pooh stories. We are delighted to announce that Neil Reed, owner of Pooh Corner and official Ambassador for The Ashdown Forest Foundation will take the stage on both days, with additional speakers to be announced soon.
We are also pleased to share that The East Grinstead Bookshop will be bringing a pop-up bookshop to the event, offering a range of Pooh-related books for readers of all ages.
And last but not least, a unique painting created especially to commemorate the weekend will be up for grabs in a silent auction. Proceeds from all sales go directly to supporting Ashdown Forest.
