Join the Mini Clumps Challenge!
While a team hikes 32km across Ashdown Forest in the Clumps Challenge, you can join us at the Ashdown Forest Centre for a 3km self-guided walk on a set trail.
Learn about the history of our famous Clumps of pine trees, and the wildlife of Ashdown Forest along the way. Collect your badge and certificate and take a photo opportunity with our team at the end.
Suitable for families and less experienced hikers, or those who would simply prefer more of an amble than a hike.
Tickets for the Mini Clumps Challenge cost £5 per adult (children are free).
Book in advance (see below) or simply turn up to register on the day – our team will be ready to welcome you at the outreach trailer by the Forest Centre gate. The trail will be open between 11am and 4pm, starting from the Ashdown Forest Centre (Coleman’s Hatch Road, Wych Cross, RH18 5JP). Parking is free for participants. Park in the Forest Centre car park or if full, park in Broadstone car park, just a five-minute woodland walk to the Forest Centre.
This event will raise funds for The Ashdown Forest Foundation in support of developing the next generation of aspiring young nature lovers and conservationists.
The Clumps Challenges are inspired by former CEO James Adler, who successfully undertook the 32km Clumps Challenge with his partner Jenny in 2023. James was also a passionate advocate for supporting young people to come to know and love Ashdown Forest and the wider world of nature and conservation in general.
