Registration is now open for the Clumps Challenge 2025!

Take part in one of two walks on Saturday 27th September – a 32km guided walk, or a shorter 3km self-guided walk. Both walks will raise funds for The Ashdown Forest Foundation in support of developing and inspiring the next generation of young nature lovers and conservationists.

The main Clumps Challenge will start at 8am and finish at approximately 6pm. This 32km guided walk will take in 12 of the Forest’s historic Clumps of pine trees, with a lunch break at the Ashdown Forest Centre. Add stamps to a uniquely-designed “passport” to mark your visit to each Clump and receive a specially-designed souvenir Clumps Challenge badge on completion.

You can register for just £30 per person, and we invite you to pledge to raise more through sponsorship. We’ll provide resources to help you, including the ability to set up a dedicated page on Just Giving, where you can invite family and friends to sponsor you on this epic, one-day adventure.

There are 30 places available, so be sure to register now.

The Mini Clumps Challenge

For those wanting to enjoy a shorter walk, sign up instead for our fun, self-guided Mini Clumps Challenge starting at the Forest Centre in Wych Cross. Collect stamps on a certificate as you visit all 12 “mini Clumps” and get a badge at the end to celebrate your achievement! Choose to start your walk anytime between 11am and 3pm and follow a 3km marked trail, which will visit 12 “mini Clumps”. Registration for the Mini Clumps Challenge is £10 per family (up to five people).

Parking is free all day for all participants of the two challenges.

Once your registration has been processed, we will send you further information about sponsorship and what to expect on the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Clumps Challenge 2025 – thank you for your support!
